There is no official date for the closing of Transalpina. So basically, Transalpina will close when the first snow comes here. Also don’t forget that it is the highest road in Romania, after Transfagarasan, reaching up to 2145 m in Urdele Pass. So this the first place where it starts snowing in Romania. However, given what has happened in recent years, it is possible that Transalpina will close in early October 2024 (or even November if we’re lucky and the weather is fine like in 2022)
