Where to stay in Transfagarasan Romania?

The sun is shining, summer is here and you can’t wait to go on vacation? I understand you perfectly! What better place to escape to than Transfagarasan? Coolness, wow landscapes, adrenaline! Transfagarasan, the actual road in the heart of the mountains, starts from Arefu, near Curtea de Arges and ends at Cartisoara. As accommodation options you have: either at the beginning or at the end of the road or even on Transfagarasan, if you want to hike or enjoy a holiday in the middle of nature.

If you start from Curtea de Arges, you have many accommodation options in the area and lots of  beautiful terraces where you can eat. In addition, you can also visit Curtea de Arges Monastery, one of the most beautiful in Romania.

If you want to start driving on  Transfagarasan early in the morning,  you can stay in Arefu, a small village right at the beginning of the road.  There are a lot of guesthouses to choose from.

Or you can opt for an accommodation right in the heart of Transfagarasan : Chalet Cabana Capra, Cioplea or Piscul Negru.

If you really want to book a gueshouse at the end of the road, you can stay in Cartisoara or in Marginimea Sibiului. The villages are picturesque and the people very welcoming.

If you are a big city fan, go to Sibiu where again you have so many accommodation options – from apartments to 5 star hotels.
